La cadena Telemadrid ha solicitado a sus periodistas que no se refieran a Vox con los términos «ultraderecha» o «extrema derecha«, ya que consideran que los presentadores o informadores no deben poner adjetivos a los partidos políticos, y creen que esas valoraciones solo deberían hacerlas los participantes en las mesas de debate.
Los responsables niegan que esta sea una decisión política, sino que es una norma de estilo fundamental en una televisión pública neutral. «Seguimos una línea editorial igual para todos los partidos, si a unos no les calificamos de extrema izquierda a otros tampoco de extrema derecha, para eso ya están los tertulianos que participan en las mesas de debate».
Además de Telemadrid, otros sectores de la derecha han rechazado utilizar ese término para referirse a Vox. El propio Santi Abascal decía que no son de extrema derecha, sino de «extrema necesidad, y no nos importa cómo nos califique la extrema izquierda». La secretaria de comunicación del Partido Popular, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, también lo criticaba: «¿Por qué Vox es extremo y no lo es Podemos?».
Sin embargo, la prensa internacional no ha dudado en calificar a Vox como lo que son: extrema derecha.
La cadena pública ya ha recibido múltiples acusaciones de sesgo ideológico en sus informativos, a favor del PP, durante los gobiernos de Esperanza Aguirre e Ignacio González.
